Dapoxetine, marketed as Priligy and Westoxetin among others, is a medication used for the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE) in men 18–64 years old. Dapoxetine works by inhibiting the serotonin transporter, increasing serotonin’s action at the postsynaptic cleft, and as a consequence promoting ejaculatory delay. As a member of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) family, dapoxetine was initially created as an antidepressant. However, unlike other SSRIs, dapoxetine is absorbed and eliminated rapidly in the body. Its fast-acting property makes it suitable for the treatment of PE but not as an antidepressant.
Originally created by Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company, dapoxetine was sold to Johnson & Johnson in 2003 and submitted as a New Drug Application to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of PE in 2004. Ejaculation is a reflex that is mediated by the sympathetic nervous system.

Several medications interact with Dapotime tablets and should either not be taken while you are taking Dapotime 60mg or only after discussion and instruction from your doctor:
- Drugs that cause a serious reaction with Dapotime: monoamine oxidase inhibitors for depression, thioridazine for schizophrenia, the anticoagulant warfarin increases the risk of bleeding, NSAIDs like aspirin or ibuprofen St. John´s Wort, migraine medicines like sumatriptan, the analgesic tramadol, SSRI antidepressants like paroxetine or citalopram, SNRI antidepressants like venlafaxine, lithium for mood disorders.
- Drugs that affect Dapotime: thioridazine for schizophrenia, antifungals like ketoconazole, antibiotics like erythromycin, HIV treatments like ritonavir, and atazanavir, calcium channel blockers like diltiazem for hypertension.
How should Dapoxetine 60mg Dapotime be taken?
You should take your Dapotime tablets swallowed whole with a glass of water with or without food. You should take your Dapotime 1-3 hours before planned sexual activity. You should not take more than one tablet of Dapotime Dapoxetine 60 in 24 hours and avoid alcohol.
